The Hostaria Tona Antica Cantina, immersed in the green Villa di Tirano (Sondrio) is capable of satisfying any request: from an intimate dinner to parties for any occasion, thanks to the three individual banquet halls which can accommodate 170 guests. The Hostaria Tona has ample parking space which used to be a historic building for the production of the famouse wines Valtellinesi della Casa Vinicola Tona (founded in 1892). The wine fragrance still wafts through the building bringing back age-old memories (100 years of work, effort and joys of the Tona and Bonisolo families).

We specialise in food such as the famous Pizzoccheri (Saracen buckwheat flour tagliatelle pasta from Valtellina boiled with potatoes and savoy cabbage dressed with melted butter and Casera cheese), the "Sciatt" (small black pancakes filled with cheese and fried in lard), "Frittola", the "polenta mugna" and the "Taragna" - delicious dishes prepared with Valtellina produce such as Saracen buckwheat flour and Casera cheese. We serve home-made pastas: ribbon-shaped long pasta (tagliatelle), potato and flour dumplings (gnocchi) and Saracene pancakes; dishes prepared with wine, meat and locally produced cold cuts (dried salted beef, cured ham, sausage, cured fat), typical, local cheese and tasty home-made desserts.
The Menù is changed every month to reflect the seasonally available fresh produce: mushrooms such as porcini and finferli, asparagus, marrow and wild game, etc...

The Wine list offers an excellent selection of more than 120 labels: all the wines produced in the Valtellina region and the exclusive, renowned Tona wines at affordable prices. The selection represents not only wines from the main italian wine producing regions but also some from all over the world.
In the winter, open fireplaces heat the entire property. Hugh wooden stoves redecorated with the Ollare stone with green veins from Valmalenco keep the Wine Shop and the dining room warm, while a wooden and stone fireplace heats the lobby.
In the summer, diners can make the most of our outdoor seating on the terrace or in the garden surrounded by ancient stone boundary walls and enjoy the view of the old town with the original chimney-topped houses and the typical Valtellina terraced vineyards supported by the age-old dry stones from the river Addo evidence of the heroic wine growing culture.
